Welcome to Ms. Shaffer's Class
I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year!
I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up here in Colorado Springs, and I graduated high school as a Rampart Ram. I enjoy reading, cooking, running around outside with my six-year-old-son, and eating pizza. I also really, really love being a teacher, and my favorite subject to teach is math!
This is my currently my 5th year at Foothills Elementary, and I absolutely LOVE teaching 5th grade. Before teaching at Foothills, I worked as a math interventionist, which means that I basically got to teach math all day long to students in kindergarten all the way up to 5th grade. I had so much fun doing that! More than anything, I just love being a teacher. It's the only thing I've ever wanted to do, and having the opportunity to do what I love every day is such a gift.
