No Original Works Fundraiser this year.

We are no longer participating in the Original Works Fundraiser, since I have started the Art Auction Fundraiser during the Night of the Arts and had great sucess with it. If you would like to get your child's art printed on merchandise both Walgreens and Sam's Club provide this service at their photo labs.

Ellen Enger
Art Teacher

Hello, my name is Ellen Enger and I love teaching art at Foothills Elementary! I am going into my seventh year teaching elementary art. I graduated from Northern Illinois University with my Bachelors of Science in Education and majored in art education. I have a background working with students with special needs and teaching special needs art. I have also taught using the Core Knowledge Curriculum, which has a strong emphasis on art history. I moved to Colorado from Illinois five years ago and I adore living in Colorado Springs.

My goal as an art educator is to teach students about the art elements and principals through art history, cross-curricular connections, and through community art projects.  I want to teach kids that art can have a positive impact on their community and world. I strive to expose them to many different cultures and art mediums. I want to provide a solid art foundation for students so they can appreciate the visual arts in our world. I also want to create an environment where students feel comfortable to explore their identities and interests and share with their peers.
