Foothills offers a Spanish immersion program (K-5) in which students learn grade level content standards in a second language. Students are immersed in the language for a portion of their day, and depending on the grade level, may learn science, social studies, math, and literacy immersed in the Spanish language.
Students are able to demonstrate their learning and develop a love of language in a variety of ways:
- 4th graders learn all about electricity and circuits in Spanish. They build actual circuits with a goal of lighting a lightbulb and discuss open and closed circuits with their tablemates in Spanish.
- 1st graders have the opportunity to create
